Intent on Music

From a recent prayer journey participant:

What caught my attention while visiting the Dong was their creativity expressed through music. As we walked through villages we heard recorded singing, and saw how intent the people were to listen.

Seeing their love of music brought my thoughts to Revelation 7:9-10:

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb...And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and unto the Lamb."

This passage brought joy inside to think that one day we will be singing alongside Dong brothers and sisters in Christ. Let's pray this verse for the Dong believers, "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God" (Col 3:16).

God reminded me of a similar verse in Isaiah 55:12 while praying for the Dong people today: "For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." That would be great to see happening in the Dong world.
