Stephen was up against learned Jews from all over the Roman world, men from some of the greatest centers of learning, and the Bible says that "none of them was able to stand against the wisdom and Spirit by which Stephen spoke."
Just like the Dong church, the Christian church of which Stephen was a part was very young. Let's pray that the believers among the Dong will be filled with the Spirit and will we counted as wise though they are not schooled men.
Father, you give true wisdom. You can fill your followers with wisdom and Spirit unmatched in this world. That is exactly what we ask you to do among the Dong. Teach them through the word. Give wisdom to the teachers (those who can understand the Chinese scriptures) to feed the church. May all of this be done to the glory of Christ.
